Beat Dyslexia - Self-Esteem Is A Big Issue

A mom recently shared a comment
we have heard thousands of times

My child is having self esteem issues
in school... He says things like
"Mommy I\'m stupid\" \" I can\'t
read or do math like the other kids\"
At home he feels confident and full
of pride but at school he does not.

This a huge issue

Three thoughts:
- These comments usually reflect a
real issue -- the students are often
having a problem

- You want to help your child feel
better about themselves -- you might
want to say "Your right, you may not
be as good as you want to be -- let's
work on having you be better today
than you were yesterday and better
tomorrow than you are today"

- Work with professionals to make
this happen -- improving reading and
math skills for students who learn
differently often requires:

- Knowing what the key underlying
issues are

- Finding the right professionals
to work with who can improve their
skills and self-esteem

- Following through
